Today's song of the day is 夜明けのMEW by kyonkyon! oh my god bruh i think im going insane. i remember hearing this song in a childhood movie i watched when i was like 5 and i really wanted to know the song name because i really liked how ominous the intro sounded but i couldnt find it anywhere. and now years later... im a kyonkyon fan and i decided to listen to another one of her albums and got hit with that same intro that i was obsessed with years ago. genuinely lost my mind. i was actually so surprised. ur telling me this whole time it was a kyonkyon song

ok but anyways. i did not expect the rest of the song to sound like that lmao. idk when i was a kid i thought the intro sounded kinda scary and mysterious but the rest of the song is kinda a generic kayo song. i do like the gomene part it has a tinge of sadness to it. 

song otd 1/23/26

Today's song of the day is Endless... by Kyonkyon! bro this album is actually so fire bruh i need to tap into kyonkyon's discog more. i was always interested in listening to more of her albums because they all feel kinda different from standard idol albums. like this album was made as an album instead of hit singles mashed together in a long series. also contains some unique un-idol like melodies fused with jazz and funk as suggested by the title "afropia" if that was what she was going for. 

i always love idol songs that lean more towards a city pop feel like akina nakamori's eki and momoko kikuchi's songs (who i cant remember the songs of) 

endless is very etheral sounding. nice reverb and a hazy melody. very dreamlike and quiet not like other idol songs that are very poppy and loud (not to say i hate those i love them but i appreciate diversity)

lowkey miss my showa idol era urghhh akina nakamori, yukiko okada, shonentai, hikaru genji dont worry guys ill come back someday

also lowkey becoming a kyonkyon fan

Today's song of the day is 壊れたギター (Broken Guitar) by Kyoko Koizumi! this entire album is so cool. it sounds like it came out in the 2000s. it sounds so unique. very shibuya-kei like. also the album cover is cute.

also kyoko koizumi's nickname is kyonkyon and i think thats cute :)
