Today's song of the day is City Dreams from Tokyo by Hideki Saijo! such a unique sounding song. i cant even tell what instrument that is but it sounds so good. song really captures the feeling of walking around tokyo late at night.
also i cant believe i havent posted a hideki saijo song yet when he was my first introduction to kayokyoku. lmao his cover of YMCA was my very first kayokyoku song 💀 i was like wowww this is so cool a japanese cover of YMCA and then i started listening to his other songs like Halation and his cover of Careless Whisper by George Michael. and then from there it was all downhill.
because then i found out abt shin gosanke (the new big three) which was just a term to refer to the top male idols of japan during the 1970s consisting of hideki saijo, hiromi go, and goro noguchi. and then i found abt abt Group Sounds and got a little bit invested in The Spiders and The Tigers (the group kenji sawada was in!) but only for a little while because i got super into 80s idols like akina nakamori and shonentai so yeah.
