Today's song of the day is Daze from Kagepro! holy nostalgia. bruh i remember watching this when i was like 10 or something and i thought it was the coolest shit ever. i still think its the coolest shit ever. bru i remember i wanted one of those hoodies so bad when i was a kid. 

i love the mv so much. its so cool. i love sidus art so much. that little bridge at 2:32-3:00 is so catchy. i keep replaying it. still a top 5 kagepro song oat for me. oh my god kagepro i love u so much. what a banger

i remember seeing someone say that haruka represents the kagepro fandom where he was stuck in the kagerou daze so he couldnt be with the mekakushi dan but he can still view their experiences and relationships with eachother from where hes stuck in. which still makes him feel connected to everyone despite not being there to actually experience it. 

and at the end he finally gets his body back and draws all the places where the mekakushi dan spent their precious memories together 🥹 a metaphor for the kagepro fandom drawing fanart, feeling connected to the characters, and loving the series all together 🥹heartwarming

i actually love kagepro a lot. so much. i cant believe i left this series unattended for like 10 years. all my old interests are coming back. i love being in love with a series and its characters. something so charming abt niche indie internet projects. kagepro was like my homestuck/alien stage/omori. they were not lying when they said that specific interest u got into when u were a kid will stick with u forever

i have such good memories of kagepro. i was like 10 i think or maybe 9 when i first encountered it. and i was like woahh so cool. its like vocaloid but like it has actual lore and characters!! :o  and they all look so cool!!11  and then i got really into the whole story and everything. they were my everything bro. and i got into it during the best time of my childhood when i was living in korea during the hot summer. it brings back so much nostalgic memories. i love summer. this is why summer is the best season of all time forever.

im trying to remember things from all kagepro media and if i remember correctly, haruka was genuinely in love with takane but he didnt/couldnt tell her because he was chronically ill and was gonna die anyway so whats the point also he was shy 💔💔💔 god i need to re-read the kagepro manga soon.

bro i lowkey forgor how much i loved haruka and takane from kagepro. like omg top 3 hetgem ships of all time. i remember even back then these 2 used to be my favorite parts of kagepro. something abt a disabled girl whos bad at math has no friends and plays games all day and a disabled autistic guy who is full of love and loves food. she was a gamer, he was an artist. greatest of all time. too bad both of them end in tragedy 💔

bro i used to be so crazy over this ship i even read doujinshi of them and also i read parts of the kagepro manga but only the parts with harutaka in it 💀 it was because i couldnt find any translations of the full manga volumes anywhere so i just thought ill read the parts with harutaka in it

kagepro is one of those rare pieces of media where the het ships outclasses the yaoi or yuri ships bro harutaka is so hetgem. and they actually are better as a couple instead of just staying as friends. im still shipping it to this day nearly 10 years later. the way they end is so tragic and they have such good chemistry. is actually insane. can u guys tell i ripped off mary and angelo off of these 2.

god the powerlines and utility poles are such a staple of kagepro. so much symbolism in one episode dawg. sorry for so many screencaps but this was a beautiful episode. also kagepro is so good at depicting summer. like i feel hot just looking at these pictures. and also very good at depicting like liminality/dreamscapes because i genuinely had a dream that looked exactly like this

Today's song of the day is Toumei Answer from Kagepro! oh my god bro the nostalgia from this song is absolutely insane. i love kagepro man 😭😭😭yknow now that i think abt it kagepro kinda like homestuck yknow with all the time shenanigans and diff powers chars have. feel like im drawn to media where the plot is confusing as hell for some reason. even tho i can barely comprehend it. 

but ooh my god bro shintaro and ayano bro oh my god... ayano i love you so much... the story of this mv is abt this girl ayano who tries to get close to this boy shintaro. and shintaro is like idgaf abt anything cuz he always gets good grades but doesnt care abt life and its like whatever. ayano is like the opposite where she does terribly academically but is kind and cheerful. she folds the 100% score test grade papers that shintaro doesnt care abt and throws away into a paper crane. but shintaro still doesnt gaf and throws away the paper crane again.

and then like a day later, ayano commits suicide for (an unknown-- actually its a spoiler-- reason) and shintaro feels so guilty he shuts himself into his bedroom forever. these two make me insane. i need to dive into kagepro again bro.

this song is making me cry bruh... i remember when i tried to learn how to fold origami cranes so that i can fold someone's bad test score paper into a paper crane. turning their sadness into happiness like in kagepro. anyways i couldnt do it cuz i suck at folding origami. 

also i miss when vocaloid songs used to be quiet and calm like this. i feel like so many vocaloid songs nowadays are so loud and made to be catchy its getting so annoying. i also miss when vocaloid songs used to have mvs like this. like they actually tell a story. instead of a still image. vocaloid used to be so much quieter man. what happened

song otd 8/15/25

Today's song of the day is Kagerou Days from Kagepro! top 10 songs that changed my life forever. oh my goodness the nostalgia. its still a banger after all these years. so many kagepro songs sound so much like summer.

the first video is the one that i watched first but i honestly like the 2nd video better. i know the first one was fanmade but still. i lovee the aesthetic of the 2nd mv its so good man.

Kagerou Project

its that time of the year again... happy kagerou day!!! this series is truly foundational to my core human being ngl. genuinely no joke one of the most influential pieces of media ever to me. 

i remember when i was like 12(?) or something probably younger. i was discovering vocaloid for the first time. and i liked some of the songs. but it didnt really like REALLY hook me in. i was just a casual listener like yeah miku len rin they cool ig. 

but then one day i see a video titled heat-haze days with some cool anime thumbnail. woaw it looks so interesting. and little did i know it will change my life forever. 

the heat-haze days song i soon discovered was part of a series called kagerou project. a story about a group of kids who have special eye powers and they try to stop evil yada yada yada yeah. tbh its been a long time i kinda forgot some of the plot lol. some of them are stuck in a time loop and they try to fight and move on from grief and trauma and some other things.

i got so hooked on this song. i loved the music and the mv along with it. there was a fascinating story being told in heat haze days and i wanted to know more and i did get more! cuz theres so many songs that are all connected in this one big story. i listened to every kagepro song and i became so invested in this kagepro world

i watched the anime and read a few chapters of the manga. it was kinda confusing lowkey but i loved whatever the characters had going on. 

kagepro really made me enjoy vocaloid wayy more. i started listening to more vocaloid songs because of it. through kagepro i discovered vocaloid producers that i liked such as neru (I LOVE NERU!!!) and maretu and kenshi yonezu (hachi) and mitchie m. 

and through them, it was that i discovered utaites. i became really obsessed with utaites lol. my favs were mafumafu, soraru, mary, and eve 😭😭

and then with utaites, i started to delve more deeper into just the whole scape of japanese music. i remember having a city pop phase with tats*ro yamashita (i hate him now and i hate city pop).

and then after city pop, i discovered showa idols and then through showa idols i discovered my favorite band of all time yellow magic orchestra!!!

i cant believe kagepro caused a domino effect on my music taste thats crazy. like i firmly believe i would have never discovered ymo if it wasnt for kagepro. even tho i no longer enjoy vocaloid or utaites or city pop, ill always be a kagepro fan. i love this series so much man. 

btw my fav kagepro song is actually children record that song is such a banger. 

also my opinion on utaites has changed my favs are now soraru, mary, 96neko, nqrse, and lon all other utaites can die. idc abt mafumafu anymore he fell off so hard 💔i still like his old music tho
